HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Mary Helen Lane, 79, died on Monday, October 28 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services will be on Wednesday,October 30 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Fred Ward officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Lane was born May 12, 1923 in Lake County,Mississippi to the late Seldon and Lena Wood Welch. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt Corp. and a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntingdon. Two brothers, Oliver Welch and J.J. "Tom" Welch; four sisters, Arzie Welch Long, Ora Welch Foster, Evelyn Welch Rice and Ruth Welch Faulkner and a great-grandson, David Joshua Lloyd preceded her in death.  Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Spencer M. Lane; one daughter, Dorothy L. Martin of Huntingdon; one brother, Seldon Welch, Jr. of Counce; four sisters, Ilene
Welch Rice of Lexington, Kentucky, Irene Welch Locke of Iuka, Mississippi, Reubena Welch Johnson of Counce and Gwen Welch Turberville of Iuka, Mississippi; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
