2. George W.² Deavitt (George¹) was born June 22, 1817. George died September 10, 1888 at 71 years of age.

He married Catherine Stowels about January 1848. Catherine was born October 5, 1824. Catherine was the daughter of Henry Stowels and Elizabeth ???. Catherine died December 9, 1898 at 74 years of age. At 38 years of age Catherine became the mother of Etta Francis Deavitt in Poestenkill, New York, May 25, 1863.

At 45 years of age George became the father of Etta Francis Deavitt in Poestenkill, New York, May 25, 1863.

George W. Deavitt and Catherine Stowels had the following child:

3 i. Etta Francis³ Deavitt was born in Poestenkill, New York May 25, 1863. Etta died about 1935. She married Edwin Lester Herrington about 1887. Edwin was born in Eagle Mills, New York February 27, 1863. Edwin was the son of Michael Herrington and Annie M. Allen. Edwin died about 1926. At 26 years of age Edwin became the father of George Washington Herrington in Troy, New York, February 25, 1890. (See Edwin Lester Herrington for the continuation of this line.)

At 26 years of age Etta became the mother of George Washington Herrington in Troy, New York, February 25, 1890.
