Hiram Hawk was born near Dotters Corner, Monroe County in 1828.  He moved his family to Easton, Northampton County, shortly after 1875.  The story behind this is he married a Catholic woman, Mary Ann, and the family disapproved. Whatever the story, they are both buried in the old cemetery behind St. Joseph's Catholic Church in South Easton.

They had the following children:

*  Amanda, born 1857; died 1893.  She married Jacob Bauman

*  Ella, born 1860; died 1903; no further information available at this time.

*  Elmer, born 1862; died 1931.  He married Mary E. Peters.

*  Carrie, born 1865; died 1875.
