Introduction

Many web sites provide useful information about Children's Literature. Among them are sites which provide general information about the field of Children's Literature as well as other sites which recommend particular books for children.


Vandergrift's Children's Literature Page

Created by Kay Vandergrift of Rutgers University, this web site provides a wealth of information about Children's Literature. It is especially notable for its section on the many versions and variants of Snow White.





de Grummond Children's Literature Collection : Housed at the University of Southern Mississippi, the collection offers excellent opportunities for scholarly research. It has information about authors like Verna Aardema, and research projects on Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood. Dee Jones is curator of the USM collection.


The Kerlan Collection : Housed at the University of Minnesota, the Kerlan Collection is well-known as an outstanding research collection in the field of children's literature.

Children's Literature Web Guide

From the University of Calgary, David K. Brown, director of the Doucette Library, has created one of the web's best sites for information on children's authors and illustrators, book awards, and other pertinent children's literature topics.

 Created and maintained by Mona Kerby, this web site is located at the Carroll County, Maryland Public Library.



Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site 

Created and maintained by Carol Otis Hurst and Rebecca Otis, this site provides excellent book reviews and ideas for classroom use of children's books to teach the various content areas. The site is notable for its fine list of books and teaching ideas related to particular periods of US History.





OzKidz Literature: An Australian site with a Children's Literature focus.
