George Wright of Pilkington, was b. in Gloucestershire, Eng., in 1836. He came to Canada and set. in Pilkington in 1858. Later he resided four years in Bruce Co. , returning at the end of that time to his farm in Pilkington, on lot 14, con. 4.

Mr. Wright has owned and operated farms in three townships at the same time. He has a large herd of grade cattle on his farm and feeds a large number for export. His farms, of which he owns three, and buildings are in first-class condition, and he is in every respect an up-to-date and progressive farmer. He was one of the promoters of the Centre Wellington Farmer's Institute, and its Secretary for sixteen years. He is and has been Assessor of the township for some years, and was Secretary-Treasurer for two years of the Kinnettles creamery, of which he was one of the promoters.

He built and operated the first silos erected in the township, and is still a firm believer in this cheap method of feeding stock.

He is a Methodist and has held all of the offices of his church. In politics he is an Independent Liberal. He m. Christina Main, Cornwall, Eng. Stickney, set. Nichol; John, set. in Pilkington; Ulena, at home; Albert, m. Eliza J. Brunkard and set. in Peel. Two daughters, Mrs. Marshall and Mrs. Harper are dead, and have left four children, one Annie Wright Marshall,, at Mr. Wright;s home and three at Mrs. Thomas A. Harper's.
