COMBA, WILLIAM

COMBA William b 1842 Packenham, Lanark Co., in 1869, just after his first marriage, he came to Luther and started in pioneer life.

He had little or no means, and put up his own shanty, and by his industry has made a fine home for himself, and started out his family well fitted for life. His present house, with the conveniences of hot and cold water, and a furnace, is a great contrast to the shanty in which he started.

He was a Steward for eight years in the Methodist church. In 1867 he m. Catharine. McMunn (d.), of Packenham. Issue: Mrs. Wm. Smiley, Drayton; Wesley and William, Luther; and Herbert, at home. In 1903 he m. Metena Mitchell.
