Comments: __ ___ ____ that Jacob may be a brother of Jackson Brock, son of Sherod and Mary Brock, b. 5 Mar 1828 in Delaware County, IN. At this time (Jan. 1992) I have no proof of this. 8/93 - 1830 Census, Delaware County, Indiana: Sherod Brock has 1 boy under 5, 1 boy 5-10, 1 boy 10-15, 1 girl 0-5, 2 girls 10-25. He is 40-50 and his wife is 40-50. 1840 census, Delaware County, Indiana: Sherod Brock has 2 boys 10-15, 1 boy 15-20, 1 girl 10-15 and 1 girl 15-20. Event-Misc: __ ___ ____ Shows the tombstone of Nancy Brock, wife of Jacob Brock, died Jan 14, 1880, age 43 yrs. 2 mos. 21 das. She is buried in Thompson Cemetery, 1 mile west of Gaston (formerly New Corners), Washington Twp, Delaware Co. IN. Also in this cemetery are Charles and John G. Ebenstein, sons of Charles and Hannah. NOTE: From this death, we may assume that Jacob wasted no time in remarrying, as the 1880 census, taken in June, shows him married to Letia. Since there is no 1890 census, I will try to find a copy of the 1885 Indiana state census at the LDS, (Cemetery Records, Delaware County, IN p.108.)
