Maps
Here's a few maps of where my ancestors came from, died at, or married at. Keep in mind that I'm not really much of an artist...
United States
California: Everything sort of converges here. Of course, since I was born here, that only makes sense.
Northern Utah: Where the Davises, Hansens, Glenns, Youngs, Bleddyns, etc. ended up when they first came to this country.
Idaho: Where some of them went next.
Oregon:The Betscharts and Fassbinds landed here when they came over; the Davises passed through as well.
Nevada:DeKinder, Dandurand, Riehm, plus a number of Reno marriages. *GRIN*
Texas Home to the Immels and the DeKinders.
Europe
Germany: K–ln and the Rhineland-Pfalz, plus a wee bit of Alsace (which I'll also show on the French map when I get around to doing that one).
Oceania
Australia, whence two of my Irish ancestors were forcibly removed for the crime of trying to stay alive, and so missed the Irish Potato Famine. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Under construction:
(Or, don't try these links yet cuz they won't work)
These are the maps I definitely have in mind, as they relate to direct ancestors' homes; I may add some in the future that relate to other relatives, such as North Dakota (where many of the Immels ended up).
Illinois: DeKinder, Faust, Fahrenbach, and Riehm.
QuČbec (as in "Vive le QuČbec libre!")
Denmark
France
Great Britain or England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, if you prefer.
Switzerland with greater detail of Kanton Schwyz.
Beresan, formerly a region of Russia, now a region of the Ukraine, where Germans from Russia settled.
