Nicolas Gamache, aside from being my ancestor, is also the ancestor of Madonna and Céline Dion.

Madonna and Céline Dion are, at least through their Gamache ancestry, related two ways: as ninth cousins and as ninth cousins twice removed. (This is because Madonna is twice descended from Louis Fortin, a Gamache descendant.) To me, Madonna is an eighth cousin once removed and a ninth cousin once removed, and Céline Dion is a ninth cousin.

Madonna and Céline Dion are more than likely related to each other (but not to me) through the Cloutier family as well -- Elisabeth Ursule Cloutier was an ancestor of Céline Dion, while Xaintes Cloutier was a foremother of Madonna. If this is the case, then they are likely to be related to Pierre Trudeau as well through his Cloutier ancestor, Marie Madeleine. Zacharie Cloutier is said to be an ancestor of just about every Francophone in America. I can't find him among my Francophone ancestors. (Then again, I've still got some gaps in my family tree where he may be lurking.)
