This indenture made the fifteenth day of February anno Domini seventeen hundred and ninety three between Thomas Moor of Kent County state of Delaware (who is the son of Joseph Moor dec.) of the one part and Job Merydith senior (the son of Robert Merydith Decs.) of the other part. Whereas there was surveyed and laid out unto the said Joseph Moor, the (father of the above Thomas Moor) a certain tract of land situated Murderkill forrest Kent County ajoining lands there of John Oldfield & William White, as may appear by the return of the survey thereof remaining in the Surveyor Generals Office at
Philadelphia; that the said Joseph Moor being so possessed did bargain to and with the above Robert Merydith for a piece or parcel of said land and did enter into an alienation bond for the conveyance thereof; bearing date the thirtieth day of January and Domini Seventeen hundred & forty seven in the presence of John Durbonow and James Garrett But the said Joseph Moor and Robert Merydith being both since deceased, and no conveyance being made for the said piece of ground and the aforesaid Job Merydith sr being now seized with theproperty of his father (the said Robert Merydith) of and in all his lands & tenements, and being desirous of having a further confirmation by deed to the said piece of ground, hath procured the said alienation bond to be proved in open court by the testimony of the subscribing evidence above named to be duly executed and signed by Joseph Moor, as by the said bond remaining of record herewith may appear and whereas the said Joseph Moor died intestate, __ in such circumstance as to render an administration unnecessary and as no administration having therefore been ever made, the said Thomas Moor now the only heir to said Joseph Moor being desirous of confirming the contract made by his said father [ _____ ] of establishing the title to the said premises in the said Job Merydith sr. Now This Indenture Witnesseth: that the said Thomas Moor for and in consideration of the full sum of ten pounds good and lawful money of the province of Pennsylvania to his father the said Joseph Moor well and duly paid by the said Robert Merydith [ ______ ] for and in consideration of the just and full sun of five shillings, like lawful money of ? [ __ ] him the said Thomas Moor well & truly paid by the said Job Merydith sr the receipt whereof the said Thomas Moor hereby acknowledges himself therewith fully satisfied, content and paid hath granted, bargained said [ ____ _____ ] & confirmed; and doth by [ ___ ____ ] grant bargain sell [ ___ ____ _____ _____ ] & confirm unto him the said Job Merydith sr, his heirs and assigns forever all that piece of land, part of the tract above named Bounded as follows Viz. Beginning [ __ ] By the run of said Merydith's Branch in the second lineof a tract of land belonging unto William Morris called Pratts Choice and running from there with said Morris' line [ ______ ] south four degrees east one-hundred and twenty-two [ ___ ___ ____ ] marked white oak standing in said Morris' line, but is now cut down, and thence south seventy-six degrees forty-five minutes east with the said Morris' line twenty-nine [P.s ] to a stake in the corner of said Morris' fence and then north sixty-two deg. East twenty-eight P.s with said Morrises line to a corner white oak, then [ ____ ] by the said Morrises fence. Now leaves said Morrises land and runs north thirteen deg. Forty-five minutes west thirty-nine P.s and two tenths of a pearch with Nathaniel Luffs land to a corner marked maple standing in the west side of the afsd. Branch and from said maple south four deg. Thirty minutes east eight P.s to the stream of said Branch and thence down the stream of said branch on the several windings thereof to the first mentioned place of beginning. Said for to contain fifty acres of land by the same more or less. Together with all & singular the improvements, hereditaments and every other [ _________ ] to the same belonging or in any wife assertaining to have and to hold the said piece or parcel of land and premises thereby granted unto the said Job Merydith sr. his heirs and assigns to the only proper [ ____ ] and [behoof] of him the said Job Merydith sr.his heirs and assings forever. And the said Thomas Moor for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth convey grant and agree[ to ___ ] with the said Job Merydith, his heirs & assigns by these present that the said Job Merydith his heir and assigns shall [ ___ ] lawfully may at all times hereafter have, hold, use, occupy and possess the above piece or parcel of land hereditaments & premisses [ with every ] of the premisses hereby granted and confirmed of from and against all former and other titles, troubles charges and incumberances whatever had done or suffered or to be done or suffered by him the said Thomas Moor, his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by, from, or under him, , them or any of them. Be it remembered that Thomas Moor came unto the Court of Common Pleas held at Dover for Kent County on the fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three and then and ther acknowledged the written deed unto Job Meredith Senior with the land and premises therein specified to be his right and property according to the [ pur___ ] and effect thereof. In testimony whereof I have caused the public seal of said court to be affixed.
