RECENT LOSSES
ELKOW (Nahamko) Rose (1932 - 2008)
On February 4, 2008 Rose Elkow passed away at the age of 76. Our sympathies go out to Andy, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her sisters Anne and Angeline.Our visits to her house were always met with warmness, generosity and great conversation. She will be truly missed by her extended family as well.
MILES (Nahamko) Diane Irene ( 1954- 2007)
On Wednesday, December 26, 2007 Diane Irene Miles of High Prairie, formerly of Slave Lake passed away at the age of 53. She is survived by her loving husband Brian, daughter Charlene Podulsky and her three grandchildren; Greg, Kyle and Haylie, her stepsons; Jason (Jessica) of Grande Prairie, Jeff (Gina) of Edmonton; two brothers; John of Fort McMurry, Anthony (Sherry) of Slave Lake, sisters; Darlene of Edmonton, Linda (Tom) Prince of Hinton and numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents Mary and Alec Nahamko, brothers Nicky and Harry, sister Rosie, godson Bradley Ghostkeeper.
I will miss the conversations we had over the years and Diane's keen sense of humour. May she rest peacefully.
Helen Ewanchuk (nee Farrus) ( 1920 - 2007 )
On April 23, 2007 Helen Ewanchuk (nee Farrus) passed away at the age of 86 years. Our prayers and sympathy go out to Fiona, Jim, Ernest, and Lana and their spouses, as well as Helen's grandchildren, friends, and extended family.
Mary Kerychuk (nee Menzak) ( 1921 - 2007 )
On March 10, 2007 our mother, Mary (Maria) Kerychuk (nee Menzak) passed away at the age of 85 years. She will be lovingly remembered as one of the pioneers of the family and as the greatest influence in creation of this website. May her memory be eternal.
Jack Roy Kerychuk ( 1946 - 2006 )
On June 21, 2006 our son, brother, father and friend Jack Kerychuk passed away at the age of 60. He leaves to mourn his mother Mary (Menzak) Kerychuk, sons Joshua and Isaac and his wife of many wonderful years- Carol Kerychuk. He is also survived by sister Margaret, sister Linda, sister Rosemary, brother Norman, sister Pearl, sister in law Zonia and estranged brother John. We will miss him greatly.
Doris Ewanchuk ( 1920 - 2005 )
On October 31, 2005 Doris Ewanchuk, loving wife of Wiliam Ewanchuk, passed away at the age of 85 years. Our sympathy to her children Margaret, Morris, Tom and Audrey and their families.
Jack Ewanchuk ( January 4, 1916 - October 2, 2005 )
On October 2, 2005 Jack Ewanchuk passed away at the age of 89. Our deepest sympathy to his beautiful wife Lena, sons Myron, Larry and Ron, daughter Sonia, brother John and their families.
On a special note Jack and Lena are two people that deeply touched our hearts by always welcoming us into their home and sharing a laugh and a smile. Jack had an impact on me personally, with his contagious smile and sense of humour. Deb, Mom and I will miss him greatly and share with the family in their loss. May GOD keep and bless Jack as he truly deserves. Farewell old friend.
Helen Malysh (nee Ewanchuk) ( 1915- 2005 )
On January 16, 2005 Helen Malysh (nee Ewanchuk) passed away at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, daughter Elsie, siter Lena and brothers Mike, Bill, Alec, Nick and George. Our condolences to her children George, Orest, Shirley, Carol and their families and to her brothers Jack (Lena) and John (Olga) Ewanchuk. Another of the families pioneers, Helen will be sadly missed by all.
Mary Nahamko (nee Pawliuk)( 1931 - 2004 )
On October 29, 2004 Mary Nahamko (nee Pawliuk) passed away at the age of 73 years. She was predeceased by his husband Alec, sons Harry and Nick and Daughter Rose. Our condolences to her sons Johnny and Anthony, daughters Diane, Darlene and Linda, their children and grandchildren and to the entire Nahamko family. I know she will be sadly missed.
Rosie (nee Fushtey) Ewanchuk ( 1912- 2004 )
On January 6, 2004 Rose (Rosie) Ewanchuk passed away at the age of 91. Our heartfelt sympathy to her daughter & son in law, Julia (nee Ewanchuk) & David Kassian, grandchildren & spouses Donna & Doug Kassian, Janice & Mathew Slobod, great grandchild Megan Slobod, and to Rosie's entire extended family.
George Hunchak ( 1920 - 2003 )
On February 8, 2003 George Hunchak passed away at the age of 82 years. He was predeceased by his father Metro, mother Helen, brothers Alexander and John, sister Mary and wife Doris. Survived by his son Harvey and his wife Donna and grandchildren Cora and Twila. He will be sadly missed.
William ( Bill) Eliuk ( 1947 - 2003 )
On January 25, 2003 Bill Eliuk passed away at the age of 55 years. Bill will be sadly missed by those he touched even briefly, but paricularly by his wife Cecile , their children and Bill's grandchildren. Bill will live on in eternity as a member of his extended family.
John Hunchak ( 1910 - 2003 )
On January 12, 2003 John Hunchak passed away at the age of 92 years. John is another of the true early pioneers of the family and is a profound loss to the entire extended Hunchak and Kuzz families. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loving wife Helen ( nee Kuzz), daughter Mercey Moroziuk ( Terry Sarafinchan ), daughter Phyliss, (Bob )Cherniak , brother George and their families.

On January 7 , 2003 John Maybroda , husband of Kathy ( nee Huculak ) Maybroda , passed away at the age of 72 years. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Maybroda, Huculak and Quiroz families.
