Text: This Indenture made this 17th of May 1779 Betwen William Duncan and Lucy his wife, John Daviss and Frances his Wife of County of Culpeper of one part and Philip Wever of aforesaid County of other part . . . for sum of 200 pounds current money of Virginia have sold unto sd Philip Wever his heirs 240 acres of land being in Culpeper County and Brumfield Parish granted to said William Duncan and John Daviss by Lord Fairfax by Deed dated the 7th day of Dec. 1778 and Regester's in the Proprietors Office in Book R folio 48 . . . Signed William Duncan Yr., Lucy Duncan, John Daviss, Francis Daviss. In the Presents of John Strother, Joseph Early, Mordicai Redd. Proved 17 May 1779.
