     PROBATE: Culpeper County,Virginia Will Bk. D., p.60-61. In the name of God Amen. I Francis Browning of Culpeper County and Colony of Virginia being through the abundant mercy and goodness of God in a perfect state of health and memory . . . I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul unto almighty God who gave it me and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner . . . Imprimis I give and bequeath to my well beloved Son Shadrack Browning one tract of land and plantation that I am now possith with also one negro named Dick, as to the remainder of my Estate (as well real and personal) I give and bequeath to my beloved Son Shadrack Browning all my household furniture & stock forever after my decease my just debts being justly settled and paid. Finally I constitute my well beloved Son Shadrack Browning to stand my soul Executor to this my last Will and Testament . . . in Witness whearof I have hearunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of October One thousand seven hundred ninety one. Signed: Frances Browning (her mark +), in the presence of Shadrack Barnes, John Lawler, James Duncan Junr. Proved in Court 17 Sep 1792 by Shadrack Browning the Executor. . .
