PROBATE: Larue County, Kentucky probate: I, Christopher Conner, . . . do ordain, establish and declare this to be my last will and testament . . . 2nd that the marriage contract between myself and my present wife, Polly, be complied with. She is to have her household furniture and a cow in the possession of one Sam Smith and one ? now on the farm and one years provisions. 3rd, My son, George Washington Conner's heirs and assignes is to have their father's proportionable part of my estate. 4th, My son, Richard Conner, his heirs and assignes to have his proportionable part of my estate. 5th, My daughter, Elizabeth Ragsdale, her hiers and assigns to have her proportionable part of my estate. 6th, My daughter, Margaret Ann McDowell, her heirs and assignes is to pay to my estate out of her part, the amount of a note and it's interest that I hold against her husband, Napoleon McDowell, for ninety two dollars and 30 cents dated March 29, 1878. 7th, My son, William Christopher Conner, his heirs and assignes is to have their or his proportionable part after paying my estate twenty five dollars and 75 cents. I hereby appoint J.G. Ragsdale, my son-in-law, and Richard Conner, my son, the administrators of my estate without bond or surety. The said Admin. shall not be bound for any money on notes that I hold that can't be collected. This 24th day of March, 1888. Wit: William Bayne and Peter A. McDowell.

OBIT: Contributor of this obituary, Linda L Salsman, llms3@juno.com (current in Feb 2003). Larue County Herald, Thursday, Aug 16, 1962. Mrs. Betty McDowell, age 93, died early Sunday morning at her home in Buffalo, following an extended illness. She is survived by 2 sons, J. E. and D.W. McDowell, both of Louisville; 3 daughters, Mrs. Everett Gibson and Mrs. Cecil Wilson, of Wyanet, Illinois and Mrs. Paul Rice of Buffalo; 2 half-brothers, Joe and Jesse Dyer, of Illinois, and a half-sister, Mrs. Fred Wathen, of Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Buffalo Baptist Church with burial in Buffalo Cemetery.
