I John Menefee of the Pearrish of Brumfield County of Culpeper and Colony of Virga. being sick but sound and parfit mamary Thanks be to God for the same . . . do make and ordain this my last will and testamt. . . . Item its my will and desire that my oldest son JOHN MENEFEE shall be Executer and to have the whole Estate in his own hands ontil the following childrean all comes to age as the law deracts or maried part hareof to saport the younger children ontill my youngest Son HANRY MENEFEE come to the age of Twenty one years . . . I give and bequath to my son John Menefee and my Son Hanry Menefee the following six negores, Petter, Fanny, Cate, Hary, Georgeman and Betty and thare increse ecklly Devided between the said John Menefee Hanry Menefee at the time when Hanry Menefee arives to the age of twenty one years also the houes hold goods . . that shall be left after bringing up the young children and given my son Hanry Menefee sofishent scueling . . . I also give & bequeth to my son Hanry Menefee the track of land I now live on in Culpeper County containing two hundred acres mor or las after he arives to the age of twanty one yares. I give and bequeath to my daughter PATTEY MENEFF one negro girl named Sarah & one small gilted trunk at the day of marredg or when she arives to age of Eighteen yares. I also desier that if my daughter Pattey should mary that she may tak her Sister MOLLY and keep her till she comes to the Eighteen yares if my oldest daughter Pattey should dye . . . I give and bequath to my Daughter NANSEY MENEFEEe one negro girl named Lucey and one small gilted trunk at the day of marredg or when she the said Nansey comes to the age of Eighteen Yares. I also desire that if my Daughter NANSEY should marry that she may take her Sister BASHEBA MENEFEE and keep her till she comes to the age of Eighteen yares . . . I give and bequath to my daughter Bashaba Menefee one negro girl named Battey when she come to the age of Eighteen yares or marryed . . . I Constitute and apoint and Ordain my Son John Menfee and my Brother Jonas Menefee to be my Executers of this my last will and Testement . . . 24th day of August 1765. Articles of Agreement made 11 Mar 1793 between JAMES DUNCAN of Culpeper of one part and ISAAC BROWNING and SAMUEL FARGESON same County of other. Witnesseth that James Duncan for himself and his heirs hath agreed to let to farm unto Isaac Browning and Samuel Fargeson a tract of land on which said James Duncan now lives against the river, Beginning at the mouth of Mill Run, thence up the same to the mouth of said Duncans Spring Branch, . . . (boarders) William Brownings Path, Lawlers line . . . during the term of ten years to commence from the first day of January next with leave to BROWNING & FARGESON to seed any kind of grain after the first day of August next, in consideration whereof the said Browning & Fargeson do oblige themselves their heirs to pay unto James Duncan his heirs the annual rent of Fifty pounds current money of Virginia on or before the first day of January in every year, the first rent to become due and payable on the first day of January 1795 . . . wit: James Pendleton, John Freeman, John Ferguson,

This indenture made (blank) day of (blank) in the year 1795; Between ISAAC BROWNING of Culpeper County of one part and JOHN ROBERTS of the same County of other; Witnessesth that whereas Isaac Browning and SAMUEL FERGUSON by certain agreement bearing date 7 Mar 1793 did lease to a (should read 'from a') certain JAMES DUNCAN parcel of land as by the said Articles of Record in the County Court of Culpeper . . . And whereas Isaac Browning for a valuable consideration hath sold all his interest claim right and demand to the said land; Now this indenture witnesseth that Isaac Browning in consideration of the sum of Seventy five pounds to him in hand paid, . . hath bargained sold and set over unto John Roberts . . all the title interest and claim which said Isaac hath . . . to have and to hold the said Isaac's part of the messuage to John Roberts during the rest and residue of the term of eight years from and after first day of January next; Signed: Isaac Browning, 21 Sep 1795
