Elizabeth Duncan - Inventory & sale 2 Dec 1842-12 Dec 1842, appraisal: John Duncan,Jesse Williams,Samuel Ely

PARENT: I have Elizabeth Browning born 1775 as a child of James Browning and Susannah Hickman - Others have her as a child of James Brownings 2nd wife Jennie Johnston. Susannah Hickman Browning was living as the wife of James Browning in March of 1778 when her father James Hickman deeded a parcel of land in Culpeper County, Virginia to her and James. Elizabeth was married to Benjamin Duncan in February of 1793. If her date of birth was indeed 1775, she would have been 18 years old at the time of her marriage. For her to be the daughter of Jennie Johnston - she would have been even younger than 18 at the time of her marriage.
