Service schools completed, 12 weeks at Williamsburg, VA. (CBMU #515). 884 69 37 Kenneth Lee Duncan, Electricians Mate First Class (T) CB) SVV6 USNR, attached to the U.S. Marine Corp. 22nd Regiment. Home address, 647 Ave. M., Boulder City, Clark, Nevada. Last employer - McNeill Construction Co., Henderson, Nevada. Date of separation - 16 Nov 1945, Navtracen, San Diego, California. Entitled to wear the following ribbons: World War II Victory Medal, American Area, Asiatic-Pacific Area (1 star), Commendation Ribbon, SeaBee Insignia. He saw duty and combat on Guadalcanal, Marshall Islands, Saipan and Guam. Spent eighteen months building power plants and electrical distribution system on Guam.

PARENT: Edward Foster Claytor is not the biological father of Kenneth L. Duncan. He was the husband of Kenneth's mother, Margaret Johnson, and a father figure to Kenneth.

BIRTH-DEATH: Cemetery inscription, Pinedale Cemetery, Pinedale,Sublette, Wyoming. Obit: Butte, Montana, Mar. 1985; Edward Foster Claytor, 84, of 2203 Walnut, a former cowboy who moved to Butte in July from Pinedale, Wyo., died Monday in a Butte nursing home. Mr. Claytor was born in Casper, Wyo., July 18, 1900, to Lon and Mattie Claytor. He attended Wyoming schools and worked as a ranch hand. He worked for the Postal Service and retired in 1974. He was All-Around Cowboy in the 1919 Casper rodeo, belonged to the Rawlins Elks Lodge No. 609 and was a World War II Army veteran. He and Vivian Crawford were married April 19, 1967, in Evanston, Wyo. She survives. Other surviviors include his wife of Butte; son, Leo Smidt and Earl Smidt, both of Butte; daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Earles of Rocker and Vivian and Ronald Aamold of Butte; stepson, Kenneth Duncan of Bountiful, Utah; sisters, Eva France of Alcova, Wyo., Alice Gidstrup of Bridger and Jane Davidson of Casper; brothers, Jake and Robert Claytor, both of Alcova; and five grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 2 in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Reller officiating. Cremation will follow in Bozeman. Burial of ashes will be in the Pinedale Cemetery in Pinedale, Wyoing."
Foster Claytor was step father to Kenneth L Duncan, a man who was loved by grandmother Margaret Lenore Johnson, and members of the Duncan family.

     BIRTH-DEATH: California Dept.of Health; Certificate of Death, #31-061250. This certificate lists his date of birth as 23 Dec 1866, however, his daughter Madeline said he was the twin of his sister Flora, her obituary and her descendents gives her date of birth as 11 Dec 1865.

HISTORY: Reminiscences of Madeline Johnson of Placer County, California (daughter of Frank Ellis Johnson) recorded in 1973 by her nephew Kenneth L. Duncan. Frank Johnson married Ada Laub at Villa Grove in 1893, owned and operated a livery stable and freight company at Villa Grove, Colorado. They lived along side a creek, grandpa went fishin in the evenings for fish. He worked also for the Denver Rio Grande Railroad as a Fireman, prior to and after his marriage to Ada Laub. They moved to Leadville before the birth of their first child Anis in 1894. At Leadville Frank delivered water for his employer a Mr. Murray. Anise died at the age of 7 and is buried at Leadville. About 1901 the family moved to Saguache where Frank worked for his brother Biege Johnson who owned a large cattle ranch. Greatgrandfather Johnson stayed with Frank and Ada at the ranch at Saguache. Madeline believes he and Grandmother could be buried at Villa Grove, Leadville or Saguache. At the ranch Frank trained horses. The picture shows the registered horse "Couches" valued at $10,000., the year 1909. This horse kicked Frank Johnson broke his jaw left a scar visable untill death. Margaret, Lee and Dru were born there. About 1910 Frank and Ada moved back to Leadville and grandfather Frank Johnson returned to his old job delivering horsedrawn water door to door as no water system had been installed. About 1916 the family moved to Eureka, Utah where he was a carpenter at Bingham Canyon, Utah. About 1917, grandpa took his family to Hayden, Arizaona and then to Santa Anna, California.
