Josiah Henson Jr. was born 1816 in Tennesee, the son of Josiah Henson Sr. He was a farmer.
On the 28th of May 1840 in Ripley County, Missouri, Josiah Henson Jr. married Nancy Oaks. She was born ca 1825 in Tennesee, the daughter of Richard Oaks.
Josiah and Nancy (Oaks) Henson Jr. were the parents of seven children:
(1) Mary Jane Henson was born 1842 in Missouri. She died 5 April 1884 in Iron County, Missouri. She was married to Robert Mayberry.
(2) Julia Ann Henson was born 1 January 1845 in Missouri. She died 14 November 1926 in Iron County, Missouri. She was married to John Emsley Browers.
(3) Francis Marion Henson was born 28 December 1849 in Madison County, Missouri. He married Maggie Knapp.
(4) Lucinda Caroline Henson was born 1851 in Madison County, Missouri.
(5) Missouri Evaline Henson was born 1853 in Madison County, Missouri. She was married to John Phillips and William Maybee.
(6) Narcissa Melvina Henson was born 10 March 1857 in Madison County, Missouri. She died 21 July 1934 at Sabula, Iron County, Missouri. She was married to William H. Sutton.
(7) Artemissa Clementine Henson was born 5 September 1858 in Iron County, Missouri. She died 27 January 1928 at Bismarck, St. Francois County, Missouri. She was married to John Rickmar.
