This site traces my New England heritage back 350 years through a number of surnames. I will try to include all source information where known, and will provide links to other sites when appropriate. Please remember that this is my best understanding of my ancestry. Errors may be present, and research continues to bring new information to light and correct long-standing errors. As always, genealogical information found on-line should be treated as a secondary source until independently verified by documentary evidence.
I do what I call "extended genealogy": I work to connect my major lines to other families who settled primarily in Massachusetts and Western Maine in the seventeenth through the nineteenth centuries. In this way I have further connected a few famous Mainers to my genealogical "web," so you can find folks like Sarah Orne Jewett and Stephen King if you poke around enough. Indeed, we're all, somehow, connected.
Each of the major surname links will take you to a page where you can access genealogical information, resources, and photographs related to that line. "Affiliated lines" will connect you directly to a genealogical index page in a new window.

What's New? In the November 2011 update you'll find hundreds of new names and updates in the genealogy pages, notably, those families from Hollis Turner's book The History of Peru in the County of Oxford and State of Maine, from 1789 to 1911 (1911, rpt). I have also upgraded my Reunion database software to allow the addition of photographs for my Main/e lines in generations after 1880. Surprisingly, new Andrews information came to light last year (and was verified by others). See Andrews Resources for more information. I also plan to add new pictures of Webster and Farnham tombstones when I can sit down for long enough. (Eventually) See more under Webster Photographs. If you have information that supports, adds to, or refutes information found here, I would be happy to hear from you! |

NOTE: I have over 41,000 names in my database. Most pertain to the above surnames as these families resided in Maine from the 18th century to the present. I do *not* have documentation for individuals outside of my Main/e surnames. Please see the surname Resources pages for sources I've used that you might find helpful in your own research.
