George Lee Raine, 78, of Maple Hill died early today at a Topeka hospital.
He was born Nov. 1, 1887, near Belvue, Kansas. He had lived in the Maple Hill community 55 years.
He was the owner of G. L. Raine Lumber and Hardware Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Maple Hill and Topeka Consistory.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Raine and Don Raine, both of Maple Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Leah Mote of Maple Hill; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Arnold of Eskridge; two brothers, Francis C. Raine, 619 Washburn, and Lester J. Raine of Maple Hill; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Hill Community Church, with burial to be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Austin Funeral Home of Eskridge is in charge of arrangements.
