Notes

  1. Isabella's first name and surname have different spellings in various documents. Neilson is the most frequent spelling of her surname; but the document with the latest date, William's will, spells Thomas' middle name (presumably his mother's maiden name) Nelson rather than Neilson.

  2. Parents unknown; her father was probably one of the sons (John, Robert, James) who are not listed in the 1850 Pennsylvania census and therefore presumably did not accompany William and Isabella to the U.S. I speculate that she went with her grandparents because her parents were dead.

  3. Although Annie's christening record lists the year as 1830, her obituary and her tombstone give 1831 as her year of birth.
