John Cowan of Salt Lake City is visiting his mother and numerous friends. He came near having a serious accident, a hot cinder falling into his eye. It has been very sore and painful but is getting so nearly well that he could leave the hospital.

John Cowan turned his face westward last week. He will visit in Hutchinson at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lizzie Hamilton, and at Colorado Springs at the home of his brother, Geo. Cowan, and then take up the burden of life again on his engine in the mountains of Utah.
