This page is
dedicated to the memory of the only Grandmother I
ever knew or remember. She passed away in 1939
when I was only 14 but the things we did together
and the places she took me as a young child I will
always remember.
Kathryn Goss was born March 25, 1867 to John Goss
and Sarah Ann Williams in New York City, New York.
John Goss was born in Mimet or Minsk, Prussia and
his wife Sarah Ann Williams was born in Liverpool,
England, they were married in New York City.
Kathryn married Andrew Mc Kenna, born Brooklyn, on
August 25, 1886 in New York City.
There were three children born of the marriage:
1. Grace of whom I know very little
except from what my mother told me and that was
that she died at an early age. It seems they were
playing in the house and a kettle of boiling water
was spilled on her from the stove.
2. Sarah Geraldine, my mother was born June 9,
1889 and died September 26, 1983 at the age of 94.
3. Charlotte was born September 21, 1891 and died
at an early age on August 8, 1932. She lived 40
years, 10 months and 18 days. I was told by my
sister that her death was due to complications as
the result of an auto accident. I was only 7 at
the time but do remember seeing her as she lived
with us for a while after the accident. Aunt
Lottie as we called her was married twice, a
fellow by the name of Edward Stout and second James J.
Moran
There was one child that I know of that was born
to the first marriage, Florence.
Kathryn is buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery in
North Arlington, New Jersey. Also in the same
grave is her daughter Charlotte.
