Some Burials in Ward Cemetery
North Danville, Caledonia County, Vermont

This is a very pretty family cemetery, now enclosed with a white board fence, with about 70 graves. The earliest burial is 1829; the most recent 1965. It is no longer in use. When I first visited this cemetery, it felt very isolated. My most recent visit was in August 2000. There had been extensive clearing of the land in the area and a large building was under construction just across the street.

To reach the Ward Cemetery, take the North Danville Road from Rte. 2 between Danville and St. Johnsbury. You will cross a bridge just before you reach North Danville. Ignore the first hard right but take the next one. Immediately, turn left up the hill. Continue north on this road. You will pass Drew-Kelsey Cemetery; continue through an intersection. The Ward Cemetery will be on the west side of the road.

Note that stones grouped together in the cemetery are also grouped in this display, but the groups themselves are not placed in order. Transcriptions were made in this cemetery during two visits, one in 1985 and one in 2000; but in neither visit was there an attempt to do a complete transcription. During the first visit, no attempt was made to retain the original punctuation.
