Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, located on what is called the Mt. Pleasant St. Extension in downtown St. Johnsbury, is a beautiful cemetery of more than 13,000 graves. The earliest burial dates from about 1790. It is still in use and is beautifully kept. The cemetery manager was extremely helpful in my last visit, even driving me from grave site to grave site. The following transcriptions date from several visits in August 2000.
