Descendants of Albert J. Heise

Albert J.(1)  Heise was born on 1 Jan 1837 in Liebenau, Hannover, the son of Ludwig Karl Heise and Bertha Magdalena Rabba.(1,2)   He married Elisabetha Cornelius before 1861.(3) 

Children of Albert J.(1) Heise and Elisabetha Cornelius were as follows:

Gustav(2) was born on 29 Aug 1861 in Baltimore City, son of Albert J. Heise and Elisabetha Cornelius.(3) He was christened on 25 May 1862 at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church, Baltimore City. His baptismal witness was Gustav Rödiger.(3) When his paternal grandfather Ludwig Karl Heise died in 1897, Gustav had no children.(4)
Louis. At the time of his paternal grandfather Ludwig Karl Heise's death in 1897, Louis was said to be the father of four un-named children.(4)
Maria Elisabetha was born on 16 Sep 1863, daughter of Albert J. Heise and Elisabetha Cornelius.(5) She was christened on 28 Feb 1864 at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church, Baltimore City. The baptismal witnesses included Elisabetha Schade and Gottfried Ludwig Schade.(5) She was also known as  Maria Schäfer.(4) At the time of her paternal grandfather's death in 1897, she was the mother of four children.(4)
Sarah was born on 30 Nov 1864 in Baltimore City, daughter of Albert J. Heise and Elisabetha Cornelius.(6) She was christened on 5 Dec 1864 at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church. The parents served as the baptismal sponsors.(6)

Henriette was born on 15 Oct 1866 in Baltimore City, daughter of Albert J. Heise and Elisabetha Cornelius.(7) She was christened on 1 Jan 1868 at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church. Henriette Williams served as her baptismal sponsor.(7)

Albert was born on 18 Aug 1870 in Baltimore City, son of Albert J. Heise and Elisabetha Cornelius.(8) He was christened on 12 Oct 1870 at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church. The parents served as the child's sponsors.(8) He died on 6 Feb 1872 at Baltimore City at age 1.9 He was buried on 7 Feb 1872. His place of interment is not listed in the church register.

Alice was born circa 1871, daughter of Albert J. Heise and Elisabetha Cornelius. She married John D. Hinners on 5 Apr 1889 at Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church, Baltimore City. The pastor wrote, "John D. Hinners, 23 Jahre alt, Plumber, ledig mit Jungfrau Harriet H. A. Heise, 18 Jahre alt, beide aus Baltimore. Zeugen Heinrich Carl Schaefer und Anna Bockelmann."(10) At the time of her paternal grandfather Ludwig Karl Heise's death in 1897, she was known as Alice Hinners and had three children.(4)

Albert died on 6 Dec 1890 in Baltimore City at age 53.(1,2)  He was buried on 9 Dec 1890 in Baltimore Cemetery.(2)  This article appeared in Der Deutsche Correspondent on December 10, 1890.  Translation from the original German provided by Gary B. Ruppert.
 

Funeral Service

Yesterday afternoon at 2 PM the mortal remains of Albert Heise were taken from his home at 1129 East Lombard Street to Baltimore Cemetery for his final rest. 

The deceased furniture maker died Saturday the 6th of December.  A crowd of family friends and business acquaintances were at the deceased's residence for a final glimpse of his face before being taken to his grave. There were many wishes for the deceased and his survivors expressed in the costly flower arrangements. 

Pastor Ed. Huber of Saint Matthew's Evangelical Church devoted his sermon to the honorable deceased and the bereaved family members. Pallbearers were represtatives from the Gustav Adolph Sickness Aid Society and the Friendship Association Number 2 of which the deceased was a true and beloved member. The firm of H. Rosendale and Sons, with whom the deceased had been associated for many years,  which were advocates through the pincipal and complete workers who constituted the remaining pallbearers. The bereaved survivors included his spouse and four adult children, two daughters and two sons of whom the daughters and one son are married. 

Additionally, the deceased's father who is 90 years of age as well as three brothers and three sisters survive him. 

The deceased was in his 54th year of age and had been in America for 35 years. Those who knew him, respected and reveared him for his honorable character and his straight forward creative personality.
 

This article does not list Albert's children by name, but at the time of his father Ludwig Karl Heise's death in 1897, Albert was already deceased, and his father's obituary listed Albert's children as: Marie Schäfer, mother of four; Alice Hinners, mother of three; Louis Heise, father of four and Gustav Heise, no children mentioned.(4)
