Kent County Notes:

Our ancestor first arrived in N.B. at Cocagne, which is in Dundas Parish, Kent County.

The first French settlers arrived in Richibucto with Champlain in 1604. Some of the Acadians expelled from Nova Scotia settled in Bouctouche in the late 1700s. (New Brunswick was part of Nova Scotia until 1784.)

Kent County includes such communities as: Big Cove, Bouctouche, Cap Lumiere, Cocagne, Cocagne Island, Fords Mills, Kouchibouguac, McLean Settlement, Rexton and Richibucto. (There are many more.)

There are several distinguished people from Kent County, including billionaire K.C. Irving and former Premier Louis Robichaud.
