Descendants of John MacVeagh Esquire of Ireland

Edmund MacVeagh, the fourth generation descendant of John McVeagh Esquire of Ireland, was the emmigrant ancestor in 1682. He married Allis Dickenson and settled in Philadelphia Co., Colony of Pennsylvania.
His sons, Edmund married Elizabeth Potts and Jeremiah married Mary Potts. Jeremiah's son Jonathan McVeigh fought in the Revolutionary War. He married Elizabeth Bull and settled in Loudoun Co., Virginia before 1800, while the majority of the greater families' descendants settled around Philadelphia. Some descendants moved further west into Fayette Co., Kentucky, Morgan Co. and Vinton Co., Ohio, and Grundy Co., Missouri as well as most other parts of the country.
Other recognized descendants lived in Washington Co. Pennsylvania. John Jacob McVay and Sarah Rude (Rood) married 1780 and Isaac McVay married Mary Rude in 1781 Washington Co., Pennsylvania.
