MARY NYHAN was born October 09, 1910 in Burnfort, Knochbrack Mallow, Cork. Mary, or Molly as she was called came to America on the ship Fredonia, with her friend Catherine Coleman. She came to America to her sister Catherine and settled in the Bronx, N.Y. She married JOSEPH MALONEY November 11, 1934 in NY, Bronx, NY. They were married in a double wedding ceremony with her sister Christena and her husband Chris Flynn. They were married in Saint Pius Church, Bronx, New York. Joseph was born June 15, 1908 in the U.S.

Molly and Joe eventually moved to Archer Street in Stratton Park and raised their family there. Two of her sisters, Catherine and Christena were also living in Stratton Park so the family was a tight one. Their children attended St. Anthony’s Parish School. Joe worked as a bus driver and later as a dispatcher for MABSTOA (Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority). In the late 1970's, Joe and Molly bought a house in Valley Stream and moved along with her sister Catherine and her husband Deny. So the family always lived close together. Joe died March 09, 1986 in Nassau County and Molly died there March 10, 1997.
