FRANCIS AUSTIN was born 1611 in London, Middlesex, England, and died Abt. 1641 in Wapping Hall, London, Middlesex, England. He married ISABELL SMITH BLAND. The first Austin in America Joseph Austin was born about 1630 and is said to have come from Hampton. The name appears in Dover in 1642 and 1648 and he was taxed in Dover, New Hampshire. He owned part of the mill property at Cochecho Falls. This town was also the home of Elder Edward Starbuck and Joseph married his daughter Sarah (b. Abt 1637), who was the widow of William Story who died in 1658. After the loss of Joseph, she married Humphrey Varney. Joseph's children:
