     He was educated; as a physician.1,2 He was engaged in the mercantile business at Finleyville, Washington County, Pennsylvania.1 He was left partnership of Curry and Finley to enter mercantile business on 30 October 1810 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.3 He embarked in the dry-goods business in company with H. B. Green forming the house of Curry & Green in 1834 at Market Street, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.2 He was in mercantile business as Curry & Chadwick in 1841 at Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.2 He opened a general store and supply depot in 1841 at Finleyville, Washington County, Pennsylvania.2 He purchased a large tract of land from J. S. Gaston in 1852 at one mile below, Fineyville, Pennsylvania. He built a large store, mansion house and a number of tenant houses and shops, thus founding the town of Curryville, which he afterward had changed to Gatonville, in honor of the original landowner.2 He resided in 1854 at Gastonville, Washington County, Pennsylvania.2 He resided circa 1855 at Gastonville, Washington County, Pennsylvania.1
