Barnes Kennedy was born on 8 April 1808 at Norway, Herkimer County, New York.1,2 He was the son of John Kennedy and Anna (?).2 Barnes Kennedy married Prudence Barker in 1837 at Sullivan, Madison County, New York.1 Barnes Kennedy married Maria Mendell on 6 July 1859 at Calhoun Co., Michigan.1 Barnes Kennedy died on 8 April 1888 at Homer, Calhoun Co., Michigan, at age 80.1,2      He resided in 1814 at Madison County, New York.1 He was one of thirteen volunteers ordered to Prairie Ronde at the time Black Hawk threatened to invade Michigan circa 1832 at Michigan.1 He resided in April 1832 at Marshall, Michigan.1 He was a carpenter on the George Kitchum grist mill in April 1832 at Marshall, Michigan.1 He purchased 160 acres on 17 May 1832 at Clarendon, Calhoun Co., Michigan.1,3 He sold the 160 acres he had purchased the previous year to Anthony Doolittle, receiving $400, doubling his money circa 1834 at Clarendon, Calhoun Co., Michigan.1 He resided in 1837 at Calhoun Co., Michigan.1
