                                                                 James Augustus Doolittle was born on 31 March 1830.1 He was the son of William Doolittle and Polly (?).2 James Augustus Doolittle married Nancy Phidila Wells, daughter of Ozias Wells and Mary Kennedy, on 4 January 1856 at Clarendon, Calhoun Co., Michigan.3,4,5,6,7 James Augustus Doolittle died on 2 December 1883 at age 53.2,1 He was buried after 2 December 1893 at West Clarendon Cemetery, Calhoun Co., Michigan.1
