In The Consistory Court of the Archdeaconry of Richmond On the twenty ninth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven Before The Reverend George Bowness Clerk Master of Arts Surrogate of the Venerable and Worshipful John Headlam Clerk Master of Arts Commissary in and through that part of The Archdeaconry of Richmond aforesaid which is situated within the Diocese of Ripon. In the Goods of John Hoggett late of Cragg in the Township of Lartington in the County of York, Farmer deceased appeared personally William Hoggett of Rigg in the Township of Lartington and Parish of Romaldkirk in the County of York, farmer and George Sayer of Clints in the said Township of Lartington , Farmer and alleged that the said John Hoggett departed this life on the Twelfth day of May One thousand eight hundred and forty five having first made and published his last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the First day of November one thousand eight hundred and forty four but did not therein express terms name or appoint any Executors thereof and that Letters of Administration of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said John Hoggett with the said Will annexed were on the Twenty fifth day of October one thousand eight hundred and forty five granted by the said Consistory Court to the said William Hoggett and George Sayer as by the acts and Records thereof will appear they having previously made oath that the Estate and Effects of the said deceased within the said Archdeaconry did not amount in value to the sum of Seven hundred and eighty five pounds and they further alleged that since the granting of the said Letter of Administration as aforesaid they had discovered that the estate and effects of the deceased exceeded the sum of Seven hundred and eighty five pounds but were under the value of One thousand pounds. Wherefore they prayed and the Surrogate aforesaid at their Petition having first administered to them the said William Hoggett and George Sayer on Oath that the Estate and effects of the said deceased within the said Archdeaconry did not amount to the best of their knowledge information and belief to the sum of One thousand pounds did cause them the said William Hoggett and George Sayer to enter into a fresh Bond to the Ordinary with sufficient securities conditioned in the penal sum of Four hundred Pounds for the due administration of the estate and effects of the said deceased in pursuance of the Act 55th George 3 c184 and of the premises decreed these Letters Testimonial to be made.
