The 1881 census shows Sarah aged 20 living with her mother and brother at 25
Freemans Place. She was working as an assistant school mistress.
Sarah was a witness to the marriage of her brother Richard and Elizabeth
Graham in 1883.
She married Thomas Mais at St John's Church, Darlington on the 5th of
February 1884. Witnesses were her brother Richard and Mary E Mais.
