Robert Moss

Robert Moss (my 4 x Great Grandfather) was born c1774/5.

He married Margaret.

Death certificates show Robert Moss, 70 years, farmer, died on the 9th of March 1845 at West Bradford as the result of pleurisy fever. Thomas Ormerod (son in law) was in attendance + Margaret Moss, 74, widow, died on the 8th of August 1846 at West Bradford, Yks as the result of old age, not certified, Thomas Ormerod (son in law) registered the death. Robert was buried at West Bradford on the 13th March 1845 and Margaret on the 12th of August 1846.

Children -

Jane Moss - born c 1804. She married Thomas Ormerod on the 7th of July 1821 in Waddington, Yorkshire.

Jane died of ' phthisis' aged 52. Richard Ormerod ( presumably her son) was present at the death and signed her death certificate with the mark of a cross. Buried at St Helen's Church Waddington on the 9th February 1856. Click on Thomas's name to find out more about their descendents.

Thomas and Jane are buried in St Helen's Church, Waddington. The inscription on the grave reads:
                          In Memory of
                        Thomas Ormerod
                         of West Bradford
                        who departed this life
                 August 23rd 1853 aged 55 years
                                    also
                            Jane Ormerod
                     wife of the above who died
                February 5th 1856 aged 52 years
             " The memory of the just is blessed"
