In December 1883 Mary Jane was employed as a domestic servant at Carlbury Crossing, High
Conniscliffe, Durham when she gave birth to illegitimate son Matthew.
She married Thomas
Boddy at East Road Weslyan Chapel, Darlington on the 9th July 1887.
Mary Jane was living at Louisa Street Darlington prior to her marriage in
1887.
Mary and Thomas had 3 children- premature twins Thomas and Harriett who died
shortly after birth and daughter Sarah
Edgar Boddy born 1888.(My Great Grandmother).
She was widowed less than two years later, shortly after giving birth to
daughter Sarah.
According to the 1891 census Mary was working as a domestic and living at 12
Anns Terrace, Darlington.

Ostler married Thomas Firby, 27 year old bachelor, hay dealer of 5 Field Street, Darlington, father Ambrose Binks Firby, deceased Hay and Straw Merchant at Bondgate Chapel, Darlington on the 5th of October 1892. Witnesses were Joseph Walton and Elizabeth Firby.

Mary
Jane was widowed, for the second time, when Thomas died at Field Street, Darlington in May 1907, aged 42 years. He was buried at North Cemetery, Darlington on the 12th of May 1907 in unconsecrated plot B X 60. The ceremony was performed by Robert Bell.

Freda Barras. Widowed, for the 3rd time, in
1931 when Samuel died at 8 Kendrew Street, Darlington in 1931, aged 69 years. He
was buried at Darlington's North Cemetery on the 7th of February 1931, plot E PPP 104 by the Reverend T E May.
Mary Jane Bray, widow of Samuel Bray a labourer at the Forgeworks, aged 71 years, died at 9 Kendrew Street Darlington on the 13th of November 1936 as the result of
Syncope due to Myocarditis. G Wright, son in law, also of 9 Kendrew Street was in attendance at the death.
She was buried at North Cemetery, Darlington on the 3rd of December 1936, plot C X 148 by the Reverend H Strawbridge. The grave was described as deep.
