John was born about 1803 in the Barnard Castle
area, the son of Robert Eales and Mary
Snowden. He was baptised at
Lartington Catholic Chapel on the 29th of October 1803. PR's
show - 29 October 1803 John Eales son of Robert and Maria (Snowdon). Godfather
John Swinburne, Godmother Anna Snowdon.
He married Ann Raine
in
Barnard Castle on the 17th of May 1828. John was listed as a bachelor,
husbandman of Staindrop and witnesses were Robert Eales and Ann Dowson.
