21 October 2003 John and William Hogget John and William were brothers. I believe that they were the sons of Matthew Hoggett and Mary Dent. John John was born sometime between 1784 + 1786. Lartington Parish Registers show a John Hoggett, son of Matthew, baptised at Lartington on the 6th of November 1784. He was living at Cragg, in the Township of Lartington when he married Margaret Sayer at Romaldkirk, Yorkshire on the 6th of June 1815. Margaret died in 1833 and John later married Violetta. The 1841 census shows John, a farmer aged 55 and Violetta aged 40 along with 6 children - William, John, George, Thomas, Martha and Joseph. Click HERE for details on the descendents of John. John died on the 12th of May 1845 and was buried at Romaldkirk on the 17th. Click HERE for John's will and other related documents.
William William was born c1787. Lartington Parish Registers show the baptism of William Hoggett, son of Matthew, at Lartington on the 25th of March 1787. He married Christian Pearson at Romaldkirk on the 26th of November 1835. No mention was made of the status of either party. I believe that this was William's second marriage but I have not as yet found his first.
