* William Milburn, a joiner, was stepfather to John, having married his mother in 1851.

25th December 1910, 40 Albion St, Murton Colliery, East Murton, John Thomas Hopper, 63 years old, winding engineman. Died as the result of Influenza, cardiac failure. George Buckingham, son in law of 10 New Pilgrim Street, Murton Colliery, was in attendance at the death.

Sarah Hopper, 65 years, widow of John Thomas Hopper, colliery engineman, died on the 22nd November 1917 at Springfield Cottage, Rowlands Gill, Winlaton( home of daughter Rhoda) as the result of ? and heart failure. Her son in law, William Matthew Mein was in attendance.
