          Elizabeth Blackburn

Elizabeth was born on the 30th of August 1841 at Gilling West, Yorkshire, daughter of Ralph Blackburn and Grace Spence.  She was baptised at Gilling on the 10th of September 1841.

Her father died in 1848. The 1851 census shows Elizabeth still living in Gilling, with her mother, brother, sister and Grandmother.

By 1860 Elizabeth was living at Forcett, Yorkshire.

She married widower Robert Glendenning 

Elizabeth and Robert lived at Parkgate, Darlington for several years and had 9 children :-

Elizabeth died in The Cocks Memorial Houses, Middleton St George, Darlington on the 4th of January 1913, aged 71 years. The cause of death was ` angina pectoris and candis failure'. Her daughter, Sarah, was with her when she died.
