Atkinson

Ralph Atkinson was my 5 X Great Grandfather. He married Jane Porritt. The IGI shows the marriage on the 20 Jan 1774 at Monk Hesledon, Durham, England. 

They had at least 2 children -

Ralph Atkinson Blackburn - My 3 X Great Grandfather.

Sarah - Born Sarah Blackburne on the 14th of February 1806 in Kirkby Ravensworth and baptised on the 16th the daughter of Joshua and Mary (of Gayles).

Elizabeth - Born Elizabeth Blackburne on the 24th of May 1808 in Kirkby Ravensworth, Yorkshire. Baptised on the 29th, the daughter of Joshua and Mary (of Gayles)Died on the 7th of July 1829. Buried at St Peter and St Felix, Kirby Hill ( Kirkby Ravensworth) along with her younger brother. 
NBI shows burial at St Peter + St Felix, Kirby Ravensworth on 10 July 1829.

George - Born on the 24th of September 1809 and baptised at Kirby Ravensworth on the 7th of October 1809, the son of Joshua and Mary (of Gayles).
Died at the age of 4 years. Was buried in St Peter and St Felix, Kirby Hill, Kirby Ravensworth on the 29th of October 1813. The monumental inscription reads:
In memory of George son of Joshua and Mary Blackburn who died 27th October 1813 aged 4 years. Also Elizabeth their daughter who after a protracted illness endured with exemplary patience , tranquilly closed an irreproachable life with entire resignation to the Divine will, 7th of July 1829.
