Notes from My Desk

 As it happens!

Welcome.  I am a "Newbie" to this type of creation and it has been a long slow process. Sometimes painfully frustrating but always interesting. There are a few technical difficulties to still figure out.

I  encourage you to check out the different sections that I have incorporated into the "McNay-Crawford" site. I'm sorry that some  are not finished yet.  Now open on the site within the section Family Ties are "Allied Families" and "Ancestry Files". The Family Group Sheets for George Bennett and Fanny Cope Church, George Birtch and Mary/Sara as well as Percy Bamlet Rumford and Fanny Bennett are the first ones to appear. Other Family Groups sheets will be coming soon.

I am the  family guardian of  countless binders and zip discs of information as well as over 1000 photographs.. Choosing the "little treasures" that will make it to the website is now my ongoing task.

I am very proud of my ancestors.  These were people who struggled and worked hard to make this a better world for us all. Some folks taking their place in Britain's history. Some folks immigrating to North America, discovering places that  became home to them and are still part of my life. It is a wonderful legacy. My section "Memories and Journals" is a testament to them. Be aware that some of these pages will be slow loading. This section is my labour of love. The pages I create are a reflection of these dear people and old reprobates,  of their lives, personalities and homes.

For me, genealogy is not just  collecting  vital statistics and surnames. It, is the attempt to understand and appreciate each person that has came before me. Yes, the vital statistics will be here. Eventually they will all be in the section "Records".

I encourage all of my "cousins" no matter how distant to help, preserve our "Family History" by sharing their photos, stories and  knowledge. That one little anecdote or fact could make all the difference in completing the story of somebody's life and how they fit into our great family.

Check back to this page often!  I will bring you up to date on the  newest entries and completions.

Enjoy! and Thanks for spending time with me. Now go make yourself a "cuppa" coffee or tea, grab your mouse and start clicking.

Don't forget to visit "The Last Page", it's yours and it is NEW! That is were you will find the Guest Book.

Dona
