Mrs. Anna Lyle
Mrs. Anna Catherine (Wanner) Lyle, a life long resident of Brookville, died at her home on White Street on February 12 after a 3 weeks' illness of angina pectoris and jaundice. She was 70 years 7 months and 12 days old. The deceased was born in Brookville on June 1, 1859, a daughter of Ferdinand and Barbara (Shue) Wanner. On September 6, 1881, she was united in marriage to Joseph D. Lyle, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Clement Wienker. To them were born nine children, eight of whom survive the mother, one child and her husband preceding her in death. Surviving children are: John E., Amelia, wife of Evan A. Haines; Caroline, wife of Charles E. Hoffmeister and Bernadine, wife of Alexander B. Kraus, all of Brookville; Harry E.,New Kensington; Robert W., Brockway; Frank A., Clenshaw; and Florence, wife of Robert A. McCall, of Morgantown, W.Va. She is also survived by three stepchildren-J. Bernard Lyle of Kane; Stephen A. Lyle, Warren; Agnes Heckert, Pittsburgh-eighteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. Mary Grossbeck, Mrs. Elizabeth Logue, Mrs. Lucy Scholze and Mrs. J.A. Barker, all of New Kensington; Mrs. Minnie O'Reilly,Conception, Mo.; and Frank Wanner, Canton,O.
Mrs. Lyle was a devout member of Immaculate Conception Church here where funeral services were held last Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, requim high mass being said by Rev. F. J. Wagner. Interment was made in Catholic Cemetery (St. Marys). The pallbearers were Wallace McCall of Erie; Harold and Paul Lyle, New Kensington; Paul and Edward Haines, Brookville; Norman McCall, Pittsburgh, all grandsons of the deceased, and two nephews, Clement Scholz, of Erie, and James Honadle, of Erie.
Among the relatives and friends from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: J.B. Henninger, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Scholze and son Clement; Mrs. C.Z. Scholze and John Nolan of New Kensington; Mr. and Mrs. Miles Magnus, Brandy Camp; Mrs. J.A. Barker and son Theodore, New Kensington; Mrs. Earl Kestner, Pittsburgh; Wallace McCall and James Honadle, Erie; Norman McCall, Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Gardlock, New Kensington; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Lattimer and daughter, Margaret and Arthur Gardlock of New Bethlehem; Miss Bessie Gardlock and Mrs. John Schadle of Oil City; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hepfel, of Clarion.

Anna married Joseph D. LYLE, son of Ephraim B. LYLE and Amelia Mary GREIN, on 6 Sep 1881.⁸¹⁶ (Joseph D. LYLE was born in Sep 1848 in Pennsylvania ^{32,357,814,817} and died in 1905 ^32,357.)
