Former Local Man Dies in Ohio City
Alvin O. Jones, formerly of Clarion county, died at his home in Rittman, O. Saturday December 2. A son of Jared and Salinda Lyle Jones, he was born in Clarion county on October 4, 1859, and was 80 years, one month and 26 days old at his death. He was a carpenter by trade and resided in this county until recently.
He was married to Nancy B. Zimmerman on December 30, 1882. The union was blessed with six children, five of whom are living. They are: Charles T. Jones, Rew City; Twila A. Armstrong, John M. Jones, Munderf; Harry A. Jones, Homestead, and Mary S. Stewart, Brockway. Also surviving are his second wife, the former Mae Hardy of London, Canada. 15 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Laura Lyle and Mrs. J. E. Shanely, Hallton; Mrs. P. M. McKinley, Ridgeway; Ella Olsen, Portland Mills; Carrie Boyer, Richardsville; Mrs. Myrtle Taylor, Cumberland, MD., and Rodney Jones, Munderf.
The remains were brought to the Johnson funeral home, Brookville, where friends were recived until 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were held in the Dunahy Hill church. Interment was in the Dunahy Hill cemetery. Rev. Hathwell officiated.

Alvin married Nancy Belle ZIMMERMAN [16449] [MRIN: 5949], daughter of Adam ZIMMERMAN [22115] and Living, on 30 Dec 1882.¹ (Nancy Belle ZIMMERMAN [16449] was born in 1861 ⁵ and died in 1909 ⁵.)
