bullet  Noted events in his life were:

• He served in the military. 1612 was a soldier in the "Old French War," serving with the Connecticut troops in New York in 1759. His order book is still preserved by the descendants of his son, Frederick Austin, of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Later, Oliver Spaulding was a soldier in the Revolution, marching on the Alarm of Lexington, in April 1775, from Plainfield to the relief of the patriot forces in Massachusetts, when he was a member of the company of Captain Buckus. He later served as a Sergeant in Captain Crosby's company, under Colonel Comfort Sage, and in Captain Samuel Hall's company, Major Ebenezer Backus' Regiment of Light Horse. He was a Revolutionary pensioner in Windham County, Connecticut.


Oliver married Mary WITTER, daughter of William WITTER and Hannah FREEMAN, on 17 Jun 1762.1522 (Mary WITTER was born on 12 May 1740 1522,1612,1621 and died on 24 Apr 1781 1522,1612.)
