WILLIAM PAVLIK
Lansing, MI - Age 86, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 in Lansing. William was born on December 4, 1920 in Mckees Rocks, Pennsylvania, the son of Michael and Kata (GOZOCHUK) Pavlik. He was raised in Moundsville, West Virginia and moved to Lansing in 1945. William retired in 1980, after working 28 years for Oldsmobile Plant Protection, as a locksmith. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church for many years, an avid golfer, enjoyed swimming at Oak Park, YMCA, Veteran of the Army Air Corps and US Army during WWII. William is survived by his brother, John (Frankie) Pavlik; sister, Helen (Louis) HUFNAGEL and many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Andy, George, Nick, Steve Pavlik. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Street, Lansing with Rev. Fr. William Lugger as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, 520 East Mt. Pavlovich Jr., John "Pavy"
Age 82, of McKees Rocks on Sunday, February 25, 2007; beloved husband of Marie (KLUCICK) son of the late John and Helen; brother of Michael "Mitch" of Windgap and George "Foo" of Upland, CA; uncle of Michael (Patty) Pavlovich, Jr. and Janet ARNOLD; stepfather of Carol (Dennis) KAUFMANN and Cheryl (Tom) ZAHORCHAK ; also survived by uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends received Tuesday 6-8 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the VALERIAN F. SZAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 238 Helen St, McKees Rocks where funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11:30 AM. John was a WWII Veteran captured on Oct. 1944 in Rhineland, Germany. After his release he joined the US Coast Guard from 1950-1953. He was a life member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Ex-POW, 84th Infantry Division Rail Splitter Society, the Elks #1263, VFW 418 and the American Legion Post 618.

Age 80, on Tues., Sept. 17, 2002, of McKees Rocks, beloved mother of Sandra WOLF, Darlene RASBACH, Richard, Wayne, Dale, Dennis, Bruce, M. William, Thomas and the late Darrell Pfeuffer; 24 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister of Dwayne HANKEY, Grace CAMPBELL and the late Charles Hankey. PHILLIPS HELEN YARY PHILLIPS
Helen Yary Phillips, 82, a life-long resident of Kennedy Township, died on Saturday, March 24 [2001], in Ohio Valley General Hospital. She was born on Oct. 16, 1918 in McKees Rocks. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and member of St. Mary's Church. Surviving are her husband, Alfred Phillips of Kentucky; and her children-Alfred Phillips, Jr. of Kentucky, Rose FALLON of Thornburg and Kathleen WILDMAN of Sewickley. Also surviving are her brothers, Slokey Yary of Pittsburgh and William Yary of Virginia; and grandchildren-Elizabeth Fallon, Alfred Phillips, III, Heather and Angela Wildman. Her brother, Mike Yary, preceded her in death. Visitation was held in Anthony J. Sanvito, Inc. Funeral Home, Stowe Township, where a blessing service was held with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Moon Township.
POLO HELEN J. POLO
Helen J. Polo, 91, formerly of Penn Avenue in Lyndora died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Sunnyview Nursing Home. Born Jan. 24, 1913, in McKees Rocks, she was a daughter of John and Ann CWIK MROCZEK. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Polo was a former member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora and a current member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas (Teddi) HEIDER of Butler; a brother, Theodore "Ted" Mroczek of Butler; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Her husband, Paul M. Polo, whom she married Aug. 17, 1941, died Jan. 6, 2001. Two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.  Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at noon Tuesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Lyndora. PONCHAK ELIZABETH R. PONCHAK
Elizabeth R. Ponchak, age 65, of Erie, died Monday March 10, 2008 after a long battle with diabetes and kidney failure at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in McKees Rocks, Pa. the daughter of the late Patsy and Mariangela TRIMARCHI. She loved spending time with her family especially her adoring grandchildren. She also loved cooking, baking and reading. She was a member of St. Julia's Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Antonia. Survivors include her loving husband Joseph Ponchak; three daughters: Karen; Michelle NUCCI and her husband Mike; Veronica YOUNG and her husband Brian; and her grandchildren; Kaija, Traecy, Dakoda, and Mirranda Young; step grandson Brian and foster grandchild Stephanie; Robert Nucci; Sarah, Joe, Mary and Lauren Graves; her brother Dominic and his wife Nancy; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. . POPIAK MICHAEL POPIAK
Michael Popiak, 89, of Syracuse, died Monday, October 15, 2007 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Mr. Popiak was born in McKees Rocks, PA and had lived in Syracuse since 1950. He retired in 1980 from Crouse- Hinds where he worked as a machinist for 22 years. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. He also was a member of the SURMA Men's Choir and the Ukrainian National Home.  Survivors: two daughters, Pearl and Anna Popiak both of Syracuse; one grandson, Justin Michael VEGA; his ex-wife, Anna Popiak MET of Syracuse; two brothers, Iwan and Symon Sydor both of Ukraine; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be Friday, 9:30 a.m. from the MACKO-VASSALLO FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 1609 W. Age 73 of McKees Rocks after a brief illness, on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, beloved wife of Joseph Populo Sr.; loving mother of Maureen (Dennis) Populo BARCHESKI and Joseph Populo Jr.; dear grandmother of Taryn (Barcheski) Price, Kiley Barcheski, Cayla Barcheski, Robert & Michael Populo; also two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Populo was a 60 year devoted member and was currently President of the American Legion Post #618 Auxiliary and past president of the Allegheny County Council Auxiliary. She worked for Claffey's of Fifth Ave. in Pgh. for over 50 years and recently for Hair Fashions by Howard located in downtown Pittsburgh. Age 88, of McKees Rocks, on Friday, December 22, 2006; beloved husband of the late Mathilda (NORKUS); loving father of Julianna (Chuck) KUCHTA, Patricia (Dennis) MORRISON; dear grandfather of Victoria Morrison; brother of the late Rosina ROSNER, Julia SARGENT, Joseph and Carl Posch; loving uncle of Ruth Ann (Tom) DONNELLY and Robert (Ann) Posch; loving companion of Elizabeth ANDREWS; also survived by many other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Ann Presnar, 93, of 1416 Wilson Ave. died the morning of Sept. 28, 2008, in Jameson Hospital.  Born Nov. 10, 1914, in McKees Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Gubernot ZUBKOUSKY. She was married for 48 years to Edward J. Presnar. He preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1998. Ann was a loving homemaker for her husband and children. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, watching TV reality shows, soap operas and traveling. Ann also enjoyed her friends very much. Ann was Roman Catholic and a former member of Madonna Church, where she belonged to the Ambassador Club. She belonged to Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Raymond E. Presnar and Larry A. and Mary Ann Presnar, all of New Castle; and two brothers, John Zubkousky of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Walter Zubkousky of Indiana, Pa. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Zubkousky and Steve Zubkousky; and three sisters, Helen SINES, Sophie Vincent and Mary PILCH. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Noga Funeral Home, Inc., 1142 S. Mill Street. A procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow for St. Mary Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. The Rev. Victor Molka, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.

Age 72 of Kennedy Twp., passed away with his family at his side, on July 1, 2007. Beloved husband of Carolyn (KENNEDY) Priddy; and cherished father of sons Tony (Lori) of South Carolina and Randy (Laurie) of Moon Twp. and daughter Brenda of Ingram; special Pappy to grandchildren Kaylee, Samantha and Kara Priddy; son of the late Joseph and Florence (OLEJAR) Priddy of McKees Rocks; brother of Jack of Greentree, Alice CARUSO of Glenshaw, Mary Ann CARTER of St. Petersburg, FL, Mike of McKees Rocks and the late Chuck of St. Petersburg, FL. ALEX PROCYK
Age 72, a Green Tree resident for over 40 yrs, passed away in a Pittsburgh area hospital on Nov. 26, 2006 of congestive heart failure. He was married to his wife Sylvia for 49 yrs and is a retired Vice President and Manager of Davy International Engineering and Construction Division. He was a graduate of McKees Rocks High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Upon receiving his Bachelors and Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a 4 yr stint in the U.S. Army, Alex was hired as a design engineer for the Dravo Corp. Engineering Works Division. During his time of employment he was also a Mechanical Lead Engineer, Chief Mechanical Engineer and V.P. and Manager of Design Engineering dept. At his retirement he was Manager of Value Engineering at Davy Intl Engineer and Construction Division, formerly Dravo Corp Engineering Works Division. While he was employed there he was an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Iron and Steel Engineers, Iron and Steel Society and Society of American Value Engineers (S.A.V.E.) He was also honored with Outstanding Engineer for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Pittsburgh section- May 1982. Outside work he kept busy with numerous activities. He was band president for Keystone Oaks Marching Band, Corp. Director of Steel City Senior Drum and Bugle Corp., and a member of the Green Tree Council. In the little free time he had, he enjoyed watching his grandson play soccer, reading, model trains, relaxing at Myrtle Beach, attending Steeler and Pitt football games and watching Jr. and Sr. Drum Corp events. Alex is survived by his wife Sylvia and a daughter Patrice RUHE of Lufkin, TX and her husband John and 2 grandchildren, Gregory and Matthew Ruhe.
