CHARLES (CHICK) DALEY
Charles (Chick) Daley, 79, of Akron, died Friday, Oct. 21, 1988, at Manor Care, after a short illness. Mr. Daley was born in McKees Rocks, Pa. Sept. 27, 1909, and came to the Akron area 70 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army, and retired in 1975 from the General Tire & Rubber Co. as a purchaser in advertising after 45 years. He was a member of St. Martha's Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years. Surviving are his wife, Marie A.; sons, Donald Ross of Courtland, Ore. Ronald Ross of Cuyahoga Falls and Gary Ross of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; brothers, Jack A. Daley of New Philadelphia, Joseph C. Daley of Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Rossi Funeral Home, 552 N. Main St., Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Martha's Church. DAVIS


CHARLES B. DAVIS
Charles B. Davis, a retired teacher from TUSD, born March 4, 1924 in McKees Rocks, PA., passed away on September 15, 2008. He was a 1949 graduate of Penn State University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. In 1943 he volunteered for the U.S. Army and served overseas in the E.T.O. in an Engineer Combat Construction Battalion and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a 2nd Lieutenant. He received his Masters' Degree in Education at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Married while at Penn State in June 1948 to Betty FOGLE, the family moved in 1949 to Pittsburgh, PA. In the 1950s, he was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge and continued on through the Consistory to become a 32nd degree Mason. In June 1959 the family moved to Tucson. He taught in TUSD for 25 years; 20 of those years at Townsend Middle School. He retired from TUSD in 1983 and resided in Green Valley on two different occasions returning to Tucson in 2000. A 60th wedding anniversary was celebrated in June 2008. Besides his wife, Betty, survivors include daughter, Debby GOEBEL (Roger) and grandson, Chad Goebel - all of Tucson - son, Scott (Rachel) of Flagstaff, Arizona.



DEEMER





MICHAEL DEEMER
Michael "Mike" Deemer died Saturday, April 28, 2007, in Ontario.  With the support of his loving wife, family and friends, Mike valiantly battled a glioblastoma multiforme (a form of brain cancer) for six months. His battle ended peacefully at home surrounded by beloved family and friends.  Michael was born to Walter and Anna Deemer in McKees Rocks, Pa. He was the youngest of four brothers and served in the United States Air Force. While working full time for the United States Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh, Michael attended night school for 13 years and earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.  He continued to work for U.S. Steel for another decade.  For over 20 years, Michael worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer for Dofasco Tubular Products (Copperweld) in Shelby. Known for his kindness and easy-going nature, he was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mansfield.  A devoted husband and father, Michael is survived by his wife Elizabeth, and son, Mike (Vanessa COTEREL), Brother, William (Rose) Deemer, numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and cousins.  Visiting hours, with a prayer service to follow, will be held on Monday, April 30, 2007, at Wappner Funeral Directors Ontario home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
DELANEY MARY SERSEN DELANEY
Mary Sersen Delaney, 88, of Noblestown, North Fayette Township, died Friday, October 26, 2007.  She was born September 20, 1919, in McKees Rocks, a daughter of John and Mary KOSTURICK Sersen.  Mrs. Delaney was a homemaker and a retired nurse from John Kane Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of 64 years of Arthur Delaney Sr., who survives; loving mother of Joyce (Richard) FEKETE of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Ray (Karyn) Delaney of Baden and Arthur Delaney Jr. of Noblestown; devoted grandmother of four grandchildren, Taryn Delaney of Wexford, Trevor Delaney of Baden and Richard Fekete and Larissa (Daniel Sanz) Fekete, all of Las Vegas; and caring aunt of 29 nephews and nieces. Deceased are her sisters, Anna DUGAS, Helen LAND and Elsie McCOY.  Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald (724-926-2800). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Noblestown Road, North Fayette Township. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice if desired.

DIETRICH JOHN J. DIETRICH
John J. Dietrich, 69, prominent McKees Rocks roofing contractor, died unexpectedly Saturday morning in Atlantic City following a heart attack. Mr. Dietrich, who lived at 115 Sarah Street, McKees Rocks, was a native of the Northside. A resident of McKees Rocks for 45 years, he had been the senior partner in the J. J. Dietrich and Sons Company for 34 years. He was a member of the McKees Rocks Chamber of Commerce, Chapter No. 1263, Eagles Lodge, No. 61, of the Moose Lodge, No 1331, Elks Lodge, No. 263, Maccabees, and St. Mary's Church, all of McKees Rocks. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Dietrich; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph FATH, Mrs. James SIPES, and Miss Beatrice Dietrich; three sons, Ervin, John and Edward Dietrich; two sisters and five grandchildren. Solemn requiem high mass will be sung at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

PETER ANTHONY DiGIULIO
Age 70, On Sunday, July 22, 2007, of natural causes, at his home in Deale, MD. He was born in McKees Rocks, PA to William and Rose DiGiulio. He retired in 1974, after serving 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, which included tours in Saudi Arabia and on the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Later he joined the Pentagon's Defense Protective Service and retired from federal government in 2005, having served 20 years. He is survived by his daughter Lisa-Marie COMRAS and grandson William from his second marriage; and daughter Karen and sons Christopher and Keith from his first marriage. Julia Drahushak, 70, of Donora, died of a heart attack yesterday at Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll, Washington County. Mrs. Drahushak, a native of McKees Rocks, was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Donora, a member and past president of St. Mary's Altar Society and a member of the church choir. She is survived by her husband, William W.; two daughters, Pauline PETRO of Donora and Roselle CROW of Denver; two sons, William of DuBois, Clearfield County, and Daniel of Drayton Plains, Mich.; two brothers, Walter LEVANDOVICH and George Levandovich, both of Long Beach, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday at the James A. Rabe Funeral Home, 701 Thompson Ave., Donora. A parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, both at the funeral home. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, St. Nicholas Drive, Donora.
