Becky Maxwell-Boyce
The Boy's Club on Munson Avenue whenever the girls were only allowed there on Saturday night's. How sad it was whenever the gym burnt down and they made it an outside basketball court. For me, it was never the same after that. Then eventually they moved it up in West Park on the hill.
Walt's store on Ella Street and his ice cream parlor.
Pete & Harry's Grocery Store - corner of Olivia & Ella - there was always sawdust all over the floor and we didn't care that flies were in the meat case. YUK!
Rupreck's Grocery Store - by Uansa Village - they delivered your groceries for you.
Rexall's Drug Store on Helen Street
Coffee Pot next door to Rexall's - the best cheeseburgers I ever ate.
Whitman's on Helen Street - I bought my first pair of blue jeans there.
Matt's across the street from Whitman's - He had everything in those bins and it was so fun to browse around the store
Halloween - and going to all of the saloons or bars in the Bottoms - knowing you were getting either a nickel or a dime instead of candy.
The Tarzan swing underneath the bridge
     The U & Triple peers
Wilson School right in your neighborhood and how proud you were to be a "walker" and you could go home for lunch. Let's not forget about the "Girls" side and "Boy's" side of the playground. Wasn't fair that the "Boy's" side had the basketball court. My how that's changed. Wilson School closed down whenever I was entering the 6th grade. We went up to Hammy and for the first time I rode the bus. No, I take that back, I went to kindergarten in Ellsworth on Chartier's Avenue Ext.
Indian Mountain - going up there thinking that the Indians were hiding in the brush and digging for treasures. Let's not forget about the chief's chair.
Ringing the doorbell on the Polish Cadet's and then running away. Yea, I was one of them. Wondering what was going on behind that mirrored window on the door.
Riding bikes and playing outside from dawn till dusk, making sure you were home whenever the street lights came on.
Knowing what time it was by counting the clock chimes of Holy Ghost's Church or by just looking in that direction and seeing the face of the clock.
