This stone house was built in 1790 by Samuel Stover. The walls about 2 ft thick high ceilings, beautiful woodwork.On east bank of Shenandoah River about 1 mile downstream from mouth of Hawksville Creek. Was patented by John Landram 1734, sold to Peter Ruffner, in turn sold to Daniel Stover April 10, 1746.
